Hey everyone, I am starting up this page for my business I am going to be running this up and coming summer through the Student Development Company, LLC. I am creating this page to begin to get the word out as well as market my business.
My business is an exterior painting company. This is a great opportunity for me to practice my entrepreneurial skills as well as gain some experience along the way. I am very excited about this as I will essentially be an entrepreneur: hiring my own crew, managing the finances, making estimates for homeowners, as well as making sure a certain level of professionalism is held by my crew as well as myself.
I created this page for a few reasons:
1.) To search for potential clients/referrals. The key to getting my business off the ground is to find people who could give me work! I will be operating in the West Lafayette area. If you need paint work done on your house or know somebody that was looking to get work done this summer, please let me know. I do free, no obligation estimates, and I would love to come out and name you a price! Spread the word to anyone who you think might be interested!
We will be painting whole houses, windows (trim), doors and door trim, shutters, overhangs, garages and garage doors, fences, decks, porches, etc. If it's outside and around your house, chances are we can paint it for you!
2) To start recruiting workers. Here shortly, I am going to be looking to hire a few confident and well spoken marketing representatives that currently live in the West Lafayette area.
The duties of the marketing representative would include, but not limited to:
-Cold-calling in the neighborhoods (going door-to-door)
-Passing out fliers
-Posting fliers up around public places
This position is only about 5-10 hr./week in the spring time. This would be a great job for any college student or local resident who is looking to make some extra cash in the evenings and weekends The motivation for this position really comes from within the individual, as you will get paid for every lead you obtain for me while cold-calling.
In addition to these marketers, I am also going to be recruiting a paint crew for this upcoming summer. This position will be a full-time job (40 hr./week) during the summer time. This is a job for those individuals who don't mind working outside as well as doing some manual labor. Although painting experience is a plus, it is not necessary as my crew will be properly trained by the time summer comes around.
Duties of the crew would include, but not limited to:
-Power-washing
-Scraping/sanding/caulking
-Priming/painting/staining
-Set up (ladders, buckets, etc.)
-Clean up
-Going up on ladders (obviously you can't be afraid of heights)
This position is not for those individuals with a negative attitude toward hard work. This job is going to require early mornings, long work days, and hot temperatures. On most weeks you will have a 3 day weekend as well as a hefty paycheck coming your way every couple weeks. I won't be conducting interviews for the crew till a little bit into the spring but this page will be constantly updated to keep you in the loop.
Thanks to everyone for reading about this opportunity I have and for your support. With your help I will be able to run a highly profitable business this summer, as well as obtain priceless skills.
